2 short poems

You were never my purpose,
Only my inspiration.
And when you showed me your scars,
I only saw your beauty.
Never knowing they had already consumed you.
Since you’ve stolen the color from my lips,
I only dream in shades of black and tears
Replaying Your lies in an endless loop.

Ruins, where the dust gathers
Along side my debilitating thoughts.
An echo of my heart,
Decayed into cob webs where
Not even lowly insects will nest.
This is where you can find me,
In ruins.
